Bus Overturns in Udhampur’s Ramnagar, Seven Injured in Road Mishap

Udhampur, July 10, KNT: At least seven passengers sustained injuries after the bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and overturned in the Ramnagar area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Thursday, officials confirmed.

The mishap occurred near Highway School in the Sunetar locality of Ramnagar tehsil. Eyewitnesses said the bus, carrying multiple passengers, lost control and overturned close to the roadside, causing panic among those onboard.

Local residents rushed to the spot and immediately informed authorities while also assisting in the rescue operations. Their prompt action is believed to have prevented further injury and ensured timely medical attention for the victims.

“A passenger bus skidded off the road near Highway School, Sunetar, and overturned in Ramnagar tehsil of Udhampur, injuring at least six to seven people,” said an official on the scene.

He added that all the injured passengers sustained minor injuries and are reported to be in stable condition. Medical teams arrived promptly, and the injured were shifted to a nearby health facility for treatment.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, but officials suspect slippery road conditions or driver error may have contributed to the mishap. Authorities have urged drivers to remain cautious, especially in hilly areas where road conditions can be unpredictable. [KNT]
