Srinagar, Jul 2, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir government is unlikely to extend the ongoing summer vacation in schools beyond July 7, with Education Minister Sakina Itoo asserting that the existing 15-day break is adequate.
“There are currently no plans to prolong the vacation,” the Minister said on Wednesday, adding that weather conditions are expected to improve after July 4, making it feasible for schools to reopen on time.
The summer break was initially declared from June 23 to July 7 for all government and private schools in the Kashmir division in view of the intense heatwave.
Stressing the need to maintain academic continuity, the Minister said the focus must remain on completing the syllabus without frequent interruptions due to seasonal changes. [KNT]
