Shopian to Observe Strike on July 23 Against Dy CEO Office Shift

Shopian, July 19, KNT: Political parties and civil society groups in South Kashmir’s Shopian district have jointly called for a complete shutdown on July 23 to protest the alleged politically motivated relocation of the Deputy Chief Education Officer’s office from the district.

The announcement was made during a press conference where leaders from across the political spectrum, along with social activists, condemned the move and termed it a deliberate attempt to undermine the district’s administrative structure.

“This is not an administrative necessity but a politically driven decision meant to weaken Shopian’s representation,” the speakers alleged.
