Three Seriously Injured as Shooting Stone Hits Vehicle on Mughal Road

Poonch, July 11, KNT: Three persons sustained serious injuries on Thursday after their vehicle was struck by a shooting stone along the treacherous Mughal Road near Panar in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.

The incident occurred when a private car bearing registration number JK12-8483 was hit by a large falling stone from a hilltop, a common danger along this mountainous stretch known for landslides and rockfalls, especially during the monsoon season.

The injured have been identified as: Mohammad Amin, 30, son of Abdul Kareem, resident of Shahpur, Mohammad Khalid, 30, son of Ghulam Rasool, also resident of Shahpur and Mohammad Javid, 25, son of Mohammad Ali, resident of Radio Station area, Poonch.

All three victims were traveling in the ill-fated vehicle when the boulder suddenly rolled down and struck the car near Panar, causing significant damage and grievous injuries. Locals and nearby travelers rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital, from where they were later referred to a higher medical facility.
