Omar Abdullah also used the occasion to highlight Jammu and Kashmir’s tourism legacy, recalling that centuries ago Kashmir was described as “heaven on earth” on the walls of Delhi’s Red Fort. “Many regions market themselves with catchy slogans today, but Jammu and Kashmir has always stood as the original symbol of natural beauty and tourism promotion,” he remarked.
He invited visiting delegates to explore beyond Srinagar, assuring that their experiences across the valley would inspire them to return with their families and friends. Stressing the importance of sustainable tourism, the Chief Minister said, “Our success will not be measured by bringing you here once, but by ensuring you return. Repeat visits are the true measure of our tourism efforts.”
