DGP J&K Nalin Prabhat Chairs High-Level Security Review Meeting Ahead of Forthcoming Events

Srinagar, Aug 4, KNT: Director General of Police, J&K, Nalin Prabhat (IPS) on Sunday chaired a comprehensive security review meeting at the conference hall of PCR Kashmir in view of the upcoming events across the Union Territory.

The meeting was attended by Spl. DG Coordination J&K S.J.M Gillani, ADG CRPF Rajesh Kumar, ADGP Armed J&K Anand Jain, ADGP CID J&K Nitish Kumar, JD SIB J&K/L, IGPs of Kashmir Zone, Jammu Zone, and Security J&K, IGs of BSF and CRPF (KOS and Srinagar), all Range DIsG of J&K, DIsG from Traffic, Railways Kashmir, ITBP Srinagar, SSB Jammu, CISF Jammu, and all District SSPs of J&K. Senior officers from PCR Kashmir, Railways, APCR, CID SBK, Security Kashmir, CID CIK, and PCs Srinagar and Jammu also participated.

At the outset, the DGP was briefed on the prevailing security scenario across Jammu and Kashmir by Zonal Inspectors General and heads of various wings. Intelligence officials also shared detailed assessments of recent developments.

The meeting deliberated on current security challenges and the countermeasures needed to ensure peaceful conduct of forthcoming events. The DGP emphasized reviewing existing security plans and designing robust counter-insurgency strategies.

Nalin Prabhat directed officers to intensify surveillance on anti-national elements, increase area domination exercises, and tighten security around vulnerable targets. He also urged district heads to closely monitor social media platforms to curb the spread of misinformation and maintain public order.

The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to heightened vigilance, enhanced coordination, and effective execution of security protocols to maintain peace and stability in the region. [KNT]
