Five ‘Goons’ Arrested in Connection with Srinagar Violent Assault Case, Vehicles Seized

Srinagar, Aug 4, KNT: In a firm crackdown on social crimes, Srinagar Police have arrested five individuals involved in a violent assault incident that occurred during the intervening night of August 3 and 4 at Khayam Chowk in the Khanyar area of Srinagar.
According to police officials, the accused were allegedly responsible for creating public disorder and physically assaulting a group of people in the locality. Promptly responding to the incident, Police Station Khanyar registered FIR No. 40/2025 under Sections 109, 115(2), 126(2), and 324(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Following a swift investigation, all five accused were identified and taken into custody. In addition, two vehicles used during the assault, a Mahindra Scorpio N and a Toyota Glanza, were seized as part of the probe.

Arrested Individuals Identified as Faheem Ahmad Khan, son of Mohd. Ayub Khan, resident of Botshah Mohalla, Lal Bazar, Talat Hassan, son of Ghulam Hassan Dhar, resident of Housing Colony, Chanapora, Nadeem Malik, son of Bashir Ahmed Malik, resident of Natipora, Mehjoor Nagar, Amir Rashid Molvi, son of Abdul Rashid Molvi, resident of Jogilanker, Rainawari and Mudasir Ahmed Sheikh, son of Sheikh Nazir Ahmed, resident of Ikhrajpora, Rajbagh.
Police confirmed that further investigation is underway to establish the full sequence of events and identify any additional individuals possibly linked to the case.
In a statement, Srinagar Police reiterated their commitment to upholding law and order, ensuring public safety, and delivering timely justice to the victims. The department also urged citizens to report any similar incidents to help curb street-level violence and anti-social behavior. [KNT]
