Two held for killing stray dog in Ganderbal’s Safapora

 

Ganderbal, Aug 29, KNT: Police in Ganderbal have arrested two individuals for allegedly brutally killing a stray dog in Safapora, an incident that has sparked public outrage after surfacing on social media.

Officials said the case was registered at Police Station Safapora under FIR No. 13/2025, invoking relevant provisions of law including the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

During investigation, both accused were identified and taken into custody. Police said further legal proceedings are in progress.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal stated that animal cruelty is a punishable offence and will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He urged people to treat animals with compassion and immediately inform police about such acts of cruelty.
