Downward Traffic Only on Srinagar–Jammu Highway on Nov 1 and 2 for Durbar Move

Srinagar, Oct 29, KNT: The Traffic Police Headquarters, Jammu and Kashmir, has announced traffic restrictions on the Srinagar–Jammu National Highway (NH-44) on November 1 and 2 in view of the biannual Durbar Move.

According to an advisory issued by Inspector General of Police (Traffic) J&K, Vivek Gupta, only downward traffic (Srinagar to Jammu) will be allowed on November 1 and 2, 2025, to facilitate the movement of government officials and convoys carrying important records from the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar to Jammu.

“No upward traffic, including that of heavy motor vehicles, paramilitary forces, or other government convoys, shall be permitted from Jammu to Srinagar on these two days,” the statement read.
The restriction, the police said, is a temporary measure to ensure the safe and smooth passage of official convoys and to avoid congestion on the highway. Traffic Control Rooms at Srinagar, Ramban, Udhampur, and Jammu will remain operational round the clock to monitor the situation.
