KCCI Executive Committee Elections to Be Held on October 6

 

Srinagar, Oct 1, KNT: The Election Commission of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has announced that elections for its Executive Committee for the term 2025–27 will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025.

According to the schedule, polling will take place at the Kashmir Government Arts Emporium, near the GPO in Srinagar, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The counting of votes will be conducted immediately after the conclusion of polling on the same day.

Officials said the elections will be conducted under the overall supervision of the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and the KCCI Election Commission. Observers from various government departments and banks will oversee both polling and counting to ensure fairness and transparency.

The polls were earlier slated for September 22, 2025, but were deferred following the directive of the DC Srinagar’s Office via Letter No. DCS/ADC(PS)/Misc/2025-26/6084-92 dated September 20.

The KCCI has urged all eligible members to carry a valid KCCI Membership Identity Card, valid up to March 31, 2026, for verification at the polling station. The commission said this measure was necessary to guarantee a smooth and transparent electoral process. [KNT]
