PDP Announces Fresh District-Level Constituency In-Charges to Strengthen Grassroots Network

 

Srinagar, Oct 6, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti has approved a new list of constituency in-charges across several districts to boost the party’s organisational strength ahead of the upcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Body elections.

According to the order issued by the PDP General Secretary Mohammad Khursheed Alam, senior party leaders have been nominated to oversee constituency-level coordination and mobilisation efforts in both South and North Kashmir, as well as parts of Jammu province.

In Anantnag district, Abdul Rehman Veeri has been named in-charge for Anantnag East (Shangus), Dr. Mehboob Beg for Anantnag, Advocate Sheikh Javed for Anantnag West, and Dr. Shabir Siddiqi for Pahalgam. Iltija Mufti will oversee Srigufwara–Bijbehara, Chowdhary Talib will handle ST–Kukernag, and Mohd Ashraf Malik has been assigned Dooru constituency.

In Kulgam district, Mohd Sartaj Madani will supervise Devsar while Gulzar Ahmad Dar will handle DH Pora. Similarly, in Pulwama district, Zahoor Ahmad Mir has been designated for Pampore, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra for Pulwama, and Rafiq Ahmad Naik for Tral.

Further organisational appointments issued by Alam include Ajaz Ahmad Mir for Zainapora–Wachi and Raja Waheed for Shopian in Shopian district; Bashir Ahmad Mir for Ganderbal and Jamaat Ali Shaheen for Kangan in Ganderbal district; and Nayeem Akhtar for Bandipora with Yasir Reshi for Sonawari in Bandipora district.

In Jammu province, Advocate Asif Iqbal Chowdary has been appointed constituency in-charge for Rajouri.

Party insiders said the move aims to revive PDP’s grassroots structure and enhance public outreach in the run-up to local body polls. [KNT]
