Action Ordered After Parent Accuses School of Demanding Excess Fee and Withholding Discharge Certificates

 

Baramulla, Nov 28, KNT: The Chief Education Officer, Baramulla has constituted a three-member enquiry committee to probe allegations of misconduct against the management of Hanfia Model Higher Secondary School, Kreeri, following a complaint by a parent accusing the institution of demanding excess fee and withholding a discharge certificate.

According to an official order issued by the Chief Education Officer, the enquiry has been ordered on the basis of a complaint lodged by Muhammad Ahmad Akhoon against the Chairman of the school management. The complainant has alleged that the school demanded an unreasonable amount as fee and refused to issue the discharge certificate of his ward, an act termed in the order as alleged misconduct.

The enquiry committee shall be headed by Sharjeel Abbas Khan, Principal, Government Higher Secondary School Kachwa Muqam. Other members include Ghulam Qasim, Zonal Education Officer Wagoora and Muhammad Sultan Tantray, Headmaster, Government High School Shrakwara.

The order states that the committee has been directed to thoroughly examine all aspects of the complaint and submit a detailed report with specific recommendations within two days.

The Chief Education Officer said the matter will be dealt with strictly as per rules and any violation, if established, will attract action under relevant regulations. [KNT]
