Baramulla Police Conduct Widespread Preventive Operations, 20 OGWs Bound Down, 2 Detained; 16 CASOs Conducted to Maintain Public Order
Baramulla, Nov 13, KNT: In a major security initiative, all formations of District Police Baramulla carried out a series of meticulously coordinated preventive operations across the district on November 12, aimed at strengthening internal security, preempting potential threats, and reinforcing public order.
According to police, the district-wide operations focused on neutralizing subversive and law-defying elements while maintaining civic stability and public confidence.
During these preventive drives, six individuals linked with subversive networks were brought to police stations and bound down under law. Searches were conducted at 22 properties associated with over-ground workers (OGWs), resulting in 20 OGWs being bound down and two sent to jail under preventive detention.

Two individuals booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and currently on bail were examined, with one bound down under preventive law. Police also identified eight bailed UAPA accused for bail cancellation, and two such cases have already been submitted before the competent court.
In addition, 16 cordon and search operations (CASOs) were conducted at multiple locations, and 292 vehicles were thoroughly checked at various checkpoints across the district. Five individuals linked with E&IMCO and two with the proscribed Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) were searched to ensure compliance with legal provisions. Two absconding UAPA accused were also traced, with legal action initiated against them.
Baramulla Police stated that these operations were executed with precision to preempt security contingencies and neutralize disruptive elements. The police reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining stability, security, and harmony across the district through sustained preventive action. [KNT]
