Property Worth Rs 45 Lakh of Notorious Drug Peddler Attached in Beerwah

Budgam, Nov 21, KNT: Budgam Police on Friday attached immovable property valued at around forty-five lakh rupees belonging to a notorious drug peddler in the Sadipora area of Beerwah.

Officials said the property, a single-storey residential house, belongs to Tanveer Ahmad Ganie, son of Mohammad Yousuf Ganie, who is involved in FIR numbers 02 of 2022, 13 of 2023 and 65 of 2024 under Sections 8 and 20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act registered at Police Station Beerwah.

Investigations revealed that the accused had raised the property using proceeds generated through illegal narcotics trafficking. Police said that after completing the required legal formalities and verifying evidence establishing the link between the assets and drug money, the house was formally attached under Section 68F of the NDPS Act.

Officials added that the action is part of sustained efforts by Budgam Police to clamp down on drug networks and dismantle the financial assets built through narcotics trade. [KNT]
