SSP Ganderbal reviews crime and security scenario, stresses implementation of new criminal laws

Ganderbal, Nov 17, KNT: SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal chaired a crime and security review meeting on Monday at the Conference Hall of the District Police Office, with gazetted officers, station house officers, in-charge police posts, investigating officers and other senior officials in attendance.
Officials said the SSP placed special focus on the implementation of the new criminal laws and outlined a roadmap to raise awareness among locals about the benefits of the New Criminal Laws. He advised officers to ensure that the provisions of the updated legal framework are applied in a manner that upholds justice. He also guided them on adopting a victim-centric approach, a key feature of the new laws.
During the meeting, SSP Poswal directed officers to intensify efforts against drug abuse and strengthen action on cybercrimes. He instructed that pending UAPA and NDPS cases be processed in a timely and efficient manner.
Participants briefed the SSP about the security situation in their respective jurisdictions. The discussion covered measures required to counter emerging challenges and sustain law-enforcement readiness. SSP Poswal further stressed maintaining close coordination with other security agencies operating in the district.
