Two Carpenters Die in Separate Falls Within Two Days in Kulgam, Fresh Fatal Fall Reported in Balsoo Today

Kulgam, Nov 20, KNT: In a tragic repeat of events, another carpenter lost his life in Kulgam on Thursday, marking the second fatal fall within two days in the district.

Officials told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that a 40-year-old carpenter, identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Gull Mohammad Bhat of Kharbrari, died after falling from the rooftop of a school building in Balsoo. He reportedly slipped while working and sustained grievous injuries. He was shifted to the District Hospital Kulgam, where doctors declared him brought dead. Police have taken cognizance and initiated necessary proceedings.

This incident comes just a day after a 55-year-old carpenter died in a similar fall in Nanibugh. The deceased, Bashir Ahmad Thoker, son-in-law of Gull Mohammad Thoker of Nanibugh, fell from an under-construction Masjid on Wednesday and suffered critical injuries. He was taken to District Hospital Kulgam and later referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar where he succumbed. Police had initiated proceedings in that case as well.
