Srinagar, Nov 25, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department on Tuesday announced the winter vacation schedule for all government and recognized private schools up to the Higher Secondary level in the Kashmir Division and the winter-zone areas of the Jammu Division.
According to the order, pre-primary classes will observe winter vacations from November 26, 2025 to February 28, 2026. For classes 1 to 8, the break will begin on December 1, 2025 and extend till February 28, 2026. Students of classes 9 to 12 will have vacations from December 11, 2025 to February 22, 2026.
The department has made it mandatory for teaching faculty to remain available for academic responsibilities throughout the vacation period. All teachers have been asked to report back on February 20, 2026 to resume academic planning and to prepare for the reopening of schools.
The government has cautioned that any deviation from the winter schedule by heads of institutions or teaching staff will invite strict action under rules. [KNT]
