In a statement, Nasir Khuehami, the National Convenor of the Students Association, alleged that the student may have been under immense psychological pressure due to the college’s handling of the situation. “There is growing concern that the conduct of CGC Jhanjeri authorities may have intensified his distress, especially considering the sensitive nature of students’ mental health during examinations,” Khuehami said.

Police authorities in Punjab, including DSP Kharar Karan Singh Sandhu, confirmed to the Association that prima facie evidence and witness accounts point toward suicide. During the preliminary investigation, anti-depressant medicines were recovered from Aryan’s room, suggesting that he may have been struggling with mental health issues for some time. He had returned to the campus from home just a day before the incident.

Aryan’s body was sent to the Civil Hospital in Kharar for post-mortem. Meanwhile, calls are growing for an impartial investigation into the role of college staff and administration in the tragedy.
