Gulmarg, Dec 18, KNT: Authorities in Gulmarg have imposed restrictions on the movement of vehicles along the Tangmarg–Gulmarg road in view of the forecast of rain and snowfall. According to an advisory issued by the office of the Sub Divisional Magistrate Gulmarg, heavy vehicles and all vehicles not equipped with anti skid chains have been barred from plying on the route until further orders.
The SDM’s office stated that the measure has been taken to ensure public safety as the approaching weather system is expected to make road conditions slippery and risky. The restrictions will remain in force from the onset of rains or snowfall and shall continue as long as required, keeping in view the severity of weather conditions.
Drivers and vehicle owners have been urged to strictly follow the advisory to avoid accidents and travel disruptions. The order warns that any negligence or violation will be dealt with sternly.

The Tehsildar Tangmarg and the Station House Officer of Tangmarg and Gulmarg have been directed to enforce strict compliance with the advisory in both letter and spirit. [KNT]
