Chadoora attack case solved after CCTV analysis, suspect held

Budgam, Dec 30, KNT: Police in Chadoora have arrested a man for allegedly attacking two minor girls by spraying a chemical substance into their eyes while they were returning from tuition classes, officials said on Monday.
According to police, Police Station Chadoora received a written complaint from the parents of two minor girls alleging that an unknown person intercepted their daughters and sprayed a substance into their eyes, causing distress and injury. Acting on the complaint, FIR No. 209/2025 was registered under Sections 62 and 137 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and an investigation was immediately taken up.
During the course of investigation, police analysed CCTV footage from the area along with other technical evidence. Officials said this led to the identification of the suspect, following which questioning and searches were conducted.
Police identified the accused as Raja Furqan, son of Fayaz Ahmad Khan, an inhabitant of Gowherpora, Chadoora. Investigation revealed that he had allegedly sprayed snow spray into the eyes of the minor girls. The clothes and shoes worn by the accused at the time of the incident were recovered from his possession.

Officials said the accused was identified by the victims and has been formally arrested in the case. Further investigation also brought to light that the accused had allegedly attempted similar acts in the past but was let off by locals after being admonished, without any formal complaint being lodged at that time.
Police said the investigation is continuing to ascertain whether the accused was involved in any other similar incidents, while assuring strict legal action in accordance with law. [KNT]
