Srinagar, Aug 24, KNT: The growing menace of stray dogs in Srinagar has once again triggered concern after a 21-year-old youth was injured in a road accident caused by a dog chase.

The injured has been identified as Hanan Ahmad, son of Muhammad Younis, a resident of Shalimar. He was initially shifted to Noora Hospital and later referred to JVC Hospital Bemina with multiple injuries. Doctors said his condition is currently stable.

According to the statement of his attendant, Hanan was riding his motorcycle when a dog suddenly chased himhim, leading to the accident.

Incidents of dog attacks and accidents caused by stray animals have been reported frequently across Srinagar and other parts of the Valley. Locals say the situation has worsened, with large packs of stray dogs roaming residential areas, school zones and marketplaces, making pedestrians and commuters vulnerable. [KNT]
