Death of CBI Prosecutor: Driver Involved Arrested, Scorpio Vehicle Seized

 

Ramban, Dec 27, KNT: Police have arrested the driver involved in the fatal road accident in Ramban district that claimed the life of Advocate Sheikh Adil Nabi, a prosecutor associated with the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Senior Superintendent of Police Ramban, Arun Gupta, said the accused driver, identified as Mohammad Shafi of Nadirgund Peerbagh in Srinagar, was taken into custody a couple of days after the incident. He said the Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number JK-01BB-2625, which hit the Alto K10 driven by the prosecutor, has also been seized.

The SSP said an FIR bearing number 139/2025 has been registered at Police Station Banihal under Sections 281 and 125A of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. He added that further investigation has been set into motion to determine the exact cause and sequence of events leading to the fatal collision.
