Jammu, Jan 4, KNT: The Jammu Police have made it mandatory for all landlords in the Jammu region to register the details of their tenants at nearby police stations, officials said on Sunday.
According to police officials, homeowners have been instructed to submit complete particulars of their tenants without delay. The move has been taken as part of a broader effort to strengthen verification mechanisms and maintain law and order in the region.
Police warned that strict action will be initiated against landlords who fail to comply with the directive. Officials said non-registration of tenants will be treated as a violation of police instructions and will invite legal consequences.
To ensure wider public awareness, police carried out announcement drives using loudspeakers in various markets and commercial areas of Jammu.
