Secretary’s post re-designated as Commissioner/Secretary in Law Department

Jammu, Jan 27, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday re-designated the post of Secretary to the Government in the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs as Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, according to an official order issued by the General Administration Department.

As per Government Order No.113-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated January 27, 2026, the re-designation will remain in effect till the post is held by Achal Sethi.

Consequent upon the re-designation, Achal Sethi has been appointed as Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, with immediate effect, the order said.

The order has been issued by the General Administration Department in the name of the Lieutenant Governor and has been circulated to all concerned authorities, including Financial Commissioners, Principal Secretaries, the Director General of Police, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and other key offices for information and necessary action.

Officials said the move is part of administrative restructuring aimed at streamlining the functioning of the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department. [KNT]
