Awareness on New Criminal Laws, Cyber Crime Shared With Locals at Frisal Kulgam



Srinagar, Jan 11, KNT: As part of its sustained public outreach efforts, Kulgam Police on Sunday organised a Police Community Partnership Group meeting, also known as Thana Diwas, at Police Post Frisal.

The programme was conducted under the directions of the Senior Superintendent of Police Kulgam and was presided over by DySP PC Hatipora. The meeting witnessed active participation from Numbardars, Chowkidars, traders, transporters, students, Auqaf members and other respectable citizens of the area.

During the interaction, police officials briefed participants about the newly introduced criminal laws and their implications. Awareness was also imparted on issues such as cyber fraud, drug abuse, crimes against women and other social challenges affecting society.

Public grievances were patiently heard during the meeting. Police related issues were resolved on the spot, while matters requiring intervention from other departments were forwarded to the concerned authorities for appropriate action.

Officials said the meeting aimed to strengthen trust between the police and the public and to encourage collective efforts in maintaining law and order. Participants were urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in combating social evils and ensuring peace in the area.

The interaction concluded with an assurance from police officials that such outreach programmes would continue to address public concerns and enhance community engagement. [KNT]
