Baleno crashes near police naka in J&K’s Udhampur, tio including driver critical

Udhampur, Jan 22, KNT: Three persons were injured after a car met with an accident near Phalata area of Udhampur during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, officials said.

Sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that a Maruti Baleno bearing registration number HP62C- 1297 was travelling from Jammu towards Udhampur in a rash and negligent manner.
When the car reached near a police naka at Phalata, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to strike a parapet and meet with an accident. As a result of the crash, the driver and two other occupants sustained sernious injuries.

All the injured persons were immediately shifted to Government Medical College Udhampur for medical treatment, where their condition is being stated critical.

Police said an FIR bearing number 14 of 2026 under Sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered in connection with the incident. [KNT]
