Repeated dog bite incidents trigger fear in Habba Kadal area, Babapora locals seek SMC’s intervention


Srinagar, Jan 10, KNT: Inhabitants of the Babapora area in Habba Kadal, Srinagar have made a fervent appeal to the Srinagar Municipal Corporation to intervene urgently and save them from the growing menace of stray dogs, citing repeated biting incidents and increasing fear among the population.
Locals said that the number of ferocious dogs in the area has risen sharply, leading to frequent attacks on pedestrians. They said people are finding it difficult to venture outside their homes, especially during early morning and evening hours, due to the constant threat posed by aggressive dogs roaming the locality.
They said the dogs chase people indiscriminately, irrespective of age, causing panic among children, elderly persons and women. They added that several dog bite incidents have already been reported in the area, creating an atmosphere of fear and insecurity.
The inhabitants urged the Srinagar Municipal Corporation to take immediate steps to depopulate ferocious dogs and ensure the safety of the public. They said the issue has persisted for a long time and despite repeated complaints, no effective solution has been implemented so far. [KNT]
