Doda, Jan 2, KNT: A member of the Village Defence Group (VDG) on Friday opened fire after claiming to have noticed suspicious movement in the Desa area of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir. Police teams rushed to the area soon after the incident and initiated verification to determine the circumstances that led to the firing. No injuries or damage to property were reported.

Officials said the incident was not the first involving the same VDG member. The individual had earlier opened fire on December 14 after making similar claims of suspicious activity in the area.
