Wrong parking during snowfall worsens hardship for Beerwah inhabitants

Beerwah, Jan 29, KNT: Wrong parking has emerged as a major source of hardship for inhabitants of snow-accumulated Beerwah in Central Kashmir’s Budgam, with locals complaining that carelessly parked vehicles are blocking roads and hampering movement, particularly in sensitive areas.

Inhabitants said the situation is most alarming near the hospital area in Beerwah, where a large number of vehicles are being parked improperly along narrow roads. Such parking has been obstructing traffic flow and creating serious hurdles for patients, attendants, and emergency vehicles.

Locals said that during snowfall, even a short delay caused by blocked roads can turn dangerous in medical emergencies. Slippery road conditions, reduced visibility and already narrowed passages further aggravate the problem when vehicles are parked irresponsibly.

Social activist Khan Fayaz said the issue needs urgent attention from the administration. He appealed to the authorities to deploy traffic personnel, clearly mark no parking zones and take strict action against violators, especially around hospitals and other critical locations.
