Driver Dies After Vehicle Falls 50 Feet in J&K’s Poonch



Poonch, Feb 16, KNT: A driver lost his life after sustaining grievous injuries when his vehicle skidded off the road and plunged nearly 50 feet down a slope in Poonch district on Monday, officials said.

Official sources said the accident occurred at Chakara when a Maruti Suzuki car bearing registration number JK12-6143 was on its way from Seikloo Mandi towards Poonch. The vehicle reportedly lost control and veered off the road before tumbling down the hillside.

The driver, identified as MuhammadZabir, son of Nazir Hussain and an inhabitant of Seikloo, suffered critical injuries in the mishap. Locals and rescue teams rushed to the spot and shifted the injured driver to District Hospital Poonch for emergency medical treatment.

Despite efforts by the medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, officials confirmed.
