Tral Inhabitants Protest Water Scarcity in Pushaad

Pulwama, Feb 27, KNT: Inhabitants of the Pushaad area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday staged a peaceful protest against acute water scarcity, urging authorities to take immediate corrective measures.

Eyewitnesses said men and women assembled in the locality and raised slogans demanding restoration of regular water supply. The protesters alleged that the area has been facing prolonged shortages, forcing families to depend on unsafe and distant water sources.

The demonstrators stated that repeated representations to the concerned department have not yielded any tangible outcome. They said the scarcity has disrupted daily life, particularly affecting elderly persons, women and children who are compelled to fetch water from far-off locations.
