Ramban, March 5, KNT: The death of a young girl in Gool area of Ramban district is being investigated as a suspected murder case, police sources said on Wednesday after her body was recovered days after she was reported missing.
The deceased has been identified as Zahida Bano, daughter of Mohammad Yaqoob Khan, a resident of Partamullah in Gool.
According to officials, the girl had been missing since March 2, prompting her family to lodge a missing report at Police Station Gool on March 3.
Police said that within hours of the complaint being registered, her body was recovered from the Mazamkund area of Gool under suspicious circumstances.

Following the recovery, police registered FIR No. 11/2026 and initiated a detailed investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Sources said several individuals have been detained for questioning as part of the investigation, although officials have not disclosed further details.
Police officials said the case is being examined from multiple angles, including the possibility of foul play.
“The investigation is underway and all aspects of the case are being thoroughly examined,” an official said. [KNT]
