Traffic Hit in Jammu’s Chadwal as Protesters Accuse agency of irregular LPG Distribution

Jammu, April 6, KNT: Residents of Chadwal in Jammu on Monday staged a massive protest against an alleged shortage of LPG cylinders at a Bharat Gas agency, blocking a key road and disrupting traffic for several hours.
The protest was triggered by repeated complaints of non-availability of cooking gas cylinders, with locals saying their concerns had not been addressed despite multiple visits to the agency.
Eyewitnesses said that people, including women, gathered outside the agency premises early in the day and raised slogans, demanding the immediate supply of LPG cylinders.
As the protest intensified, demonstrators moved onto the road and blocked vehicular movement, leading to traffic disruption in the area.

Eyewitnesses said protesters accused the agency of mismanagement and irregular distribution of cylinders.
“We have been visiting the agency for days, but no cylinders are available. How are we supposed to manage our daily cooking?” a protester said.
Following the escalation, police reached the spot and assured the protesters that the issue would be addressed at the earliest.
The blockade was later lifted after the assurance, and traffic movement was restored. No untoward incident was reported during the protest.
Authorities have initiated steps to assess the supply situation and ensure availability of LPG cylinders in the area. [KNT]
