Jammu and Kashmir Police Arrest 11 in Srinagar Theft Cases, Recover Stolen Property

 

Srinagar, April 12, KNT: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday said it had arrested 11 persons and recovered stolen property in connection with two theft cases registered in Srinagar.

The action followed investigations into FIR No. 17/2026 and FIR No. 48/2026, registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, with police saying the arrests were made after questioning suspects and acting on disclosures.

According to officials, the accused were interrogated during the course of the probe, leading to the recovery of stolen items linked to the cases. The recoveries were carried out in the presence of independent witnesses, and legal procedures were followed.

Those arrested have been identified as Arif Ahmad Najar alias Sharukh of Mujgund, Shahid Ahmad Lone alias Shahid Kalla of Maloora, Bilal Ahmad Dar alias Bilal Sharabi of Parimpora Ghat, Mansoor Yousuf Pampori alias Basit of Usman Abad Shalteng, Mohd Rafiq Ganaie of Palpora Pamposh Colony, Owais Manzoor of Pamposh Colony Palpora, Tahir Habib Shagoo of Palpora Pamposh Colony, Muneeb Farooq alias Michal of Seki Madan Shalteng, Suhail Sadiq Joo of Kupwara presently residing in HMT, Shahid Ahmad Bhat of Maloora, and Tariq Ahmad Dar of Mehjoor Nagar.

Police said all the accused have been formally arrested in connection with the cases.
