Sopore Police Conduct Search at Itihad-ul-Muslimeen Leader

 

Sopore, Oct 8, KNT: Sopore Police on Wednesday conducted a search operation at the residence of Syed Yousuf Shah, son of Syed Najaf Shah, resident of Hygam Sopore, in connection with an ongoing investigation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

Officials said the operation was carried out following proper legal authorization from the competent court. During the search, police recovered and seized literature and photographs associated with the banned organisation Jammu & Kashmir Itihad-ul-Muslimeen (JKIM). The seized material has been taken into custody for further examination and investigation.

The search was conducted in connection with FIR No. 33/2025, registered under the UAPA, as part of continued efforts to trace the activities and networks linked to proscribed organisations.

Police said the operation is a part of their ongoing campaign to dismantle the terror–separatist ecosystem in Sopore and ensure that no individual or group promotes or supports banned organizations in the region. [KNT]
