Srinagar Police Demolishes Illegal Structure of Notorious Drug Peddler, Issues Stern Warning

Srinagar, 04 May :In a decisive crackdown under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan , Srinagar Police has demolished an illegal residential structure belonging to a habitual Drug peddler in the Palpora Noorbagh area.

The accused, Mohammad Irfan Sheikh @ Iff S/o Mohammad Ashraf Sheikh R/o Pamposh Colony, Palpora Noorbagh, is a known narcotics offender involved in multiple NDPS cases, including:

FIR No. 48/2025 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act of PS Sangam

Investigation and verification have revealed that the said structure was raised illegally on land acquired and developed using proceeds generated from narcotics trafficking. The construction was carried out without lawful authority, in clear violation of revenue laws.

It has further surfaced that close associates and family members of the accused are also reportedly involved in multiple NDPS cases across the Valley, indicating a wider network linked to drug peddling activities.

Acting on credible inputs and after due legal process, the demolition has been carried out in coordination with the concerned authorities, strictly in accordance with law and after completion of all codal formalities.

This action sends a clear and unequivocal message: properties created from proceeds of drug trafficking will not be spared, and those involved in narcotics trade will face strict and visible consequences.

Srinagar Police reiterates its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and remains committed to dismantling the entire ecosystem of narcotics, including financial and logistical networks.
