Crime Branch Kashmir uncovers unlawful alterations in horticulture regularization records

Srinagar, Nov 19, KNT: The Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir has filed a chargesheet before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar, naming six accused persons in a case involving alleged tampering of official records submitted before the Central Administrative Tribunal.

Officials said the case originated from a communication forwarded by the office of the Chief Horticulture Officer, flagging suspected manipulation of documents placed before CAT Srinagar in TA No. 4100/2021. Following the complaint, a formal case was registered and investigation was initiated by the agency.

Investigators found that the records submitted before the tribunal had been unlawfully altered while in its custody. The probe established that the prime accused, Pathan Majid Ahmad Khan of Sopore, in criminal conspiracy with CAT employee Anoop Mishra and other beneficiary employees, made unauthorised insertions in the documents related to their regularisation in the Horticulture Department.
