Kargil, Nov 22, KNT: Traffic Police Kargil Saturday issued a detailed advisory announcing restrictions and diversions across Kargil town in view of the LAHDC Kargil “KSSRB” examination scheduled for Sunday. The measures will remain in force from eight in the morning to four in the afternoon to facilitate smooth movement of candidates appearing at multiple exam centres in and around the town.
Officials said the route leading to Degree College will remain restricted for general traffic, with only vehicles transporting candidates allowed to ply. No vehicle will be permitted towards the college from the “Y” Junction, and traffic will be diverted towards Poyen or MH side. Similar diversions will be implemented from MH Junction towards Iqbal Bridge and the Gurdwara stretch depending on ground requirements.
At Poyen Crossing, vehicles will not be allowed to enter Poyen Market. Traffic from the Degree College side will be routed towards the NHW bypass, while vehicles approaching from other directions will be diverted towards Degree College road.
Restrictions will also remain in force at BSNL Crossing where vehicles heading towards the upper Chankchik route will be stopped and diverted towards Lal Chowk. Authorities said no parking will be allowed anywhere along the town roads during examination hours.

At Sawab School Crossing in Baroo, vehicles will not be allowed towards Baroo Shagaran and will instead be diverted either towards Baroo Khan Ka or Titi Chumik side.
Traffic Police Kargil said intermittent regulation will also be enforced at Lal Chowk and other strategic junctions based on local conditions. Candidates appearing at HS Gongma, Lankore and Girls Higher Secondary School have been advised to use the upper Chankchik route for easy access to examination centres.
Travellers intending to move towards Srinagar, Drass, Leh or Zanskar on November twenty three have been asked to use the bypass instead of passing through Kargil Bazaar or the circular route.
Authorities urged the public to cooperate with the traffic plan to ensure hassle-free conduct of the examination. [KNT]
