Youth injured in Srinagar road accident succumbs to injuries 

Srinagar, Feb 7, KNT: A youth who was critically injured in a road accident at Takanwari Noorbagh in Srinagar late Friday night succumbed to his injuries at a hospital here, officials said.

The deceased has been identified as Faizan Ahmad Sheikh, aged 25, a resident of Narainbagh in Ganderbal district. HIs friend Umar, aged 24 and also a resident of Narainbagh, sustained serious injuries in the same accident.

Officials said both victims suffered severe head injuries and were rushed to JVC Hospital Bemina for treatment. However, Faizan Ahmad Sheikh later succumbed to his injuries due to their severity. The condition of the other injured youth was stated to be critical and he is undergoing treatment.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident. [KNT]
