10-Year-Old Crushed to Death After Tractor Overturns Near School in Tral

 

Pulwama, May 23, KNT: A 10-year-old boy was killed after a tractor overturned near a school in the Saimoh area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday, triggering grief and concern over safety around unattended heavy vehicles.

The deceased has been identified as Salim Ahmad Ganie, 10, of Saimoh Tral.

According to reports, the boy was sitting on a tractor that had been parked on a slope near the school when the incident occurred.

Initial reports suggest that the tractor suddenly moved or overturned while the child was attempting to start or handle the vehicle.

The vehicle overturned abruptly, leaving the boy trapped underneath and critically injured.

People nearby rushed towards the spot after hearing cries and attempted rescue, but the child had suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot before any medical assistance could reach him.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated proceedings to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the accident. [KNT]
