Sole Breadwinner Lost in Nowgam Blast, Family Appeals for Aid and Probe


Srinagar, Nov 15, KNT: The family of photographer Arshid Ahmad Shah, who died in the accidental explosion at Nowgam Police Station on Friday night, has appealed for a thorough investigation and government support, saying the victim was the only earning member of the household.
One of the family members told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that Arshid had been supporting the entire family after the tragic death of his elder brother in an accident. “Arshid was the sole breadwinner. We received the news of his death today and the entire family is devastated,” he said.
He added that Arshid leaves behind two children while his father is a heart patient. “We request the government to investigate the incident and ensure accountability properly. His family is completely shattered. They need support at this critical time,” he said.
The explosion at Nowgam Police Station, linked to the handling of explosive material recovered during an ongoing investigation, claimed nine lives and left several others injured. The family said the loss has pushed them into uncertainty and appealed for immediate assistance from the authorities. [KNT]
