DC Srinagar Inspects New Access Route to Bone & Joint Hospital, Pushes Traffic Decongestion Plan

 

Srinagar, Aug 8, KNT: In a bid to improve access to one of Kashmir’s busiest healthcare facilities, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo on Friday inspected the newly developed alternate entry gate, alternate approach road and additional parking space at the Bone & Joint Hospital.

 

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner conducted an on-site review of the alternate Sunner Kul Bund road project, which is being developed to streamline traffic movement around the SMHS Hospital and Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, where traffic congestion has remained a persistent concern.

Officials briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the progress of the infrastructure works, including the alternate access road and supporting facilities aimed at easing vehicular movement, particularly for ambulances, patients and attendants visiting the hospital.

Labroo directed the executing agencies to expedite the remaining works while maintaining quality standards so that the upgraded infrastructure can be made available for public use at the earliest.

The inspection forms part of the district administration’s ongoing efforts to improve urban mobility and reduce traffic bottlenecks around Srinagar’s major healthcare corridor. [KNT]
