Srinagar, Aug 7, KNT: A severe water crisis has gripped several areas of Idgah in Kashmir capital Srinagar, leaving residents without access to potable water. The affected areas include Kreshbal, Goor Hanji Pora, Pamposh Colony, and Guripora.
Locals expressed distress over the acute shortage of water, stating that they are forced to use unfiltered river water for drinking and household purposes. This has raised concerns about the potential health risks, particularly water-borne diseases.
“This water crisis has caused inconvenience and hardship for us. We are struggling to access basic necessities,” locals told the news agency Kashmir News Trust. They urged upon the government to take swift action to address the water shortage and ensure that the affected areas receive a steady supply of potable water.

Congress leader Saifuddin Soz has taken note of the situation and sought the intervention of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Soz appealed to the government to supply potable drinking water to the affected areas, emphasizing the need for immediate action. [KNT]
