CM Omar Abdullah: No Contact Yet with Militants in Hiranagar, Search Operations Continue

 

Jammu, Mar 24, KNT: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has stated that security forces have not yet made contact with militants in Hiranagar, though search operations in the area are ongoing.

Considering Hiranagar’s proximity to the border, Omar Abdullah indicated that the suspected militants might have infiltrated from across the border.

Speaking on the broader security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the Chief Minister stressed that militancy cannot be eliminated without public support.

“Without involving the people, militancy in J&K will not end,” he said, highlighting the crucial role of community cooperation in tackling militancy.

Omar Abdullah also asserted that the presence of an elected government is contributing to stability in the region.

“The government is functioning, the situation is under control, and peace prevails,” he said, assuring that law and order remain intact.
