Joint Team Inspects Hotels and Restaurants in Kulgam to Check Food Safety Compliance


A joint inspection team comprising officials from the Revenue Department, Food Safety Department, and Police on Monday carried out inspections at various hotels and restaurants in the district to check for any use of rotten or prohibited substances.
The inspection focused on kitchen and storage facilities, with officials verifying compliance with government rules. Challans were issued to some establishments for violations, including the use of colouring agents and other banned additives.
Authorities said no confirmed case of rotten meat was found during the day-long inspection. However, several food samples have been sent for laboratory examination by the Food Safety Department, and reports are awaited.

Officials further informed that such inspections will now be conducted more frequently to ensure public health safety.
In a similar exercise, a joint team from the Revenue and Health Departments carried out inspections in Tehsil Qaimoh.
