Around 20 bovines rescued in J&K’s Reasi, police foil illegal smuggling attempt


Reasi, Sep 16, KNT: Police in Mahore sector of Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir foiled bovine smuggling attempt after recovering nearly 20 animals that had been hidden illegally in the Shikari Tharal area.

Officials said the seizure was made by a special police party of Shikari Post under the jurisdiction of Police Station Mahore. Acting on inputs, the team carried out searches in the area and recovered the animals that had been kept concealed for transportation.

Police said further developments in the case are under close watch, and efforts are on to identify those involved in the smuggling attempt. The rescued animals have been shifted to safe custody while legal proceedings are being initiated.
