The Shia face of the People’s Democratic Party Imran Raza Ansari Monday spoke his heart out, calling Peoples Democratic Party as ‘Family Democratic Party.’
Ansari said PDP is run by family members and not by elected representatives. “Tasaduq Mufti, Nayeem Akhtar and family members of Mehbooba Mufti including her uncle are all dead wood who have hijacked the party,” Ansari told news agency Kashmir News Trust on the sidelines of a function at Trikolbal Pattan falling in Northern district of Baramulla.

“I am ready to join 50 parties but those parties should not be run and managed by family members. I have already said goodbye to the party. I am not resigning because I am a legislator right now,” Ansari said.

Pertinently, a photograph of Ansari with National Conference spokesperson Junaid Azam Matoo is making rounds on social media networking sites, indicating that he has made up his mind to join National Conference.
Yesterday, his uncle and another PDP legislator Abid Ansari alleged that Mehbooba Mufti posted her relatives on top positions. Abid Ansari even attacked Tasaduq Mufti called him a ‘photographer turned family politician.’
Defending his uncle, Imran Raza Ansari said that Abid is not wrong. “We repeatedly told Mehbooba Mufti there are some black sheep in the party but she never listened to us. I was a Minister but Mehbooba neither listened to me nor took me into confidence,” he said adding that the PDP-BJP Government ended because of the black sheep present in the party.
Ansari while hitting PDP left, right and centre said that Tasaduq Mufti and Nayeem Akhtar were backdoor entries. “PDP is a family party. Everything happens inside family. The black sheep not only destroyed the party but also Kashmir Valley,” Ansari added that PDP is ‘Pir’ party where deserved candidates are pushed to wall.
While responding to a question, Imran Raza Ansari said that Mehbooba is not like her father who never preferred his family members but encouraged party workers. “Mehbooba Mufti only preferred her family members. She lacks strategy and planning,” Ansari said.
Imran Raza Ansari is the son of late Minister Molvi Iftikar Hussain Ansari- the man who started his political career with Congress and later on switched to National Conference and after developing some differences with Dr Farooq Abdullah joined Peoples Democratic Party. [KNT]
