4 shops gutted in Kunzar market fire

At least 4 shops were gutted in a fire incident that raged in the Kunzar market of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The officials of the Fire & Emergency Service said that a fire broke out in Kunzar market from a shop and during the incident 4 shops were gutted. They said the fire was brought under control by firefighters with the help of police and locals.

Property worth lakhs were damaged in the incident.

The official told news agency Kashmir News Trust that while dousing the fire, a firefighter identified as Khurshid Ahmed Bhat of Hashripora Budgam sustained injuries.

The shops belonged to Ishfaq Ahmad Sheikh, Muhammad Saleem Reshi, Sonauallah Sheikh, Ghulam Nabi, Ghulam Mohiuddin Parray, Ali Muhammad residents of Kunzer and Reyaz Ahmad Parray of Bongam.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case to ascertain the cause of the fire. [KNT]
