Animals, poultry birds burnt alive in Rajouri fire incident

A widow lost over a dozen animals after her house caught fire in the Manjakote area of the Poonch district of the Jammu region.

Official sources said that a fire broke out on the intervening night of March 30 and 31 in a mud house owned by a widow, Tazeem Akhtar in the Panjgrain area.

Buffaloes, sheep, and hens kept adjacent to the house were charred to death in the fire incident.

Official sources said that 15 sheep, 2 buffaloes, and some poultry birds were burnt alive.

Police have registered a case to ascertain the facts while locals appealed to the administration seeking help for the victim for her loss. [KNT]
