World Heart Day: Paras Health organizes ‘Walkathon’

Ahead of World Heart Day, Valley’s first corporate hospital, Paras Health Srinagar organized a Walkathon along the banks of Dal Lake on Boulevard Road on Thursday.

Scores of staff members including prominent doctors and other dignitaries participated in the ‘Walkathon’.

DSP Traffic Police city Srinagar, Mr Mehboob flagged off the walk with Zonal Director of Paras Srinagar Dr Jatinder Arora. The participants were carrying banners and placards which read: Beat the odds and keep your heart beating strong’.

While talking to reports, noted Cardiologist Dr Mohammad Maqbool Sohil who is Associate Director – Interventional Cardiology at Paras Srinagar threw light on the importance of healthy heart among all age groups and emphasized on benefits of exercise and a minimum 40-minute daily walk in order to keep the heart healthy and strong.

Pertinently, Paras Health is aligned with the mission to provide awareness among the common people of Kashmir related to various health issues that are faced by the population at large. [KNT]
